Report ... The following is an example of the minimum contents of an individual
site survey report. This
type of report may be requested only by the owner or resident of property at
a specific given street address or latitude/longitude coordinate. |

>> WLAN Router Access Point
Density ... This following neighborhood map shows Wireless Router locations --
network access points (AP)
detected from public street level.
The table below gives some specifics about each detected network. Many of these wireless networks are
providing no data encryption or privacy protection.

location of the Wireless Network device based on where the strongest signal
was detected. SSID --
Service Set Identifier; Network name assigned by user. This name is broadcast by the
Wireless Router. Flags --The
Flags value indicates what level of data encryption is enabled, and other
specific characteristics and capabilities of the WLAN. A Flag value of '1' indicates a
Wireless Network access point (AP) that provides no data encryption. A value of "11" indicates
an AP using WEP or some other form of encryption, such WPA or AES. Last Channel -- Radio Frequency channel in
use. Devices using the same
channel in close physical proximity will interfere with each other. >> Wireless Router
Proximity ... Wireless Routers detected from a single location --
The
map below shows wireless network APs detected from a single location --
within the subject's WLAN physical property boundaries. In this example, network performance
problems inside the subject's home were caused by APs in neighboring
homes. In addition, there was a high
potential for accidental connection to the wrong network. Wrong network was "automatically"
selected -- At some locations within the subject's home, the neighbor's wireless
router provided higher RF signal strength than the subject's own router -- as
a result, the neighbor's router was automatically chosen by the computer's
operating system. LeveL10.us was
able to isolate and correct the problem -- improving the system performance
and privacy of all neighbors. Latitude Longitude `(

( ) 0411 00000400 100 540 10 Over 50% of wireless networks have no protection -- Of the fourteen wireless routers detected in this specific
on-site survey, eight had no data encryption and would allow anyone to make a
connection. NOTE: There is never an attempt by LeveL10.us personnel
to connect into or access any networks, or resources attached to any network,
which is found during this discovery process, or to use such collected information
in any way that may compromise security or privacy of the network owner. |
